In February, Herbalife Nutrition Foundation (HNF) launched the “Global Month of Purpose” (GMOP) in celebration of Mark Hughes Day. GMOP is a program that encourages employees to help make the world healthier and happier, by going out and volunteering in their communities.

In total, 538 Herbalife Nutrition employees from the United States, Mexico, India, United Kingdom, and Philippines participated in this volunteer program, accumulating over 2,100 hours.

In the United States, employees from Los Angeles volunteered at their local Casa Herbalife, A Place Called Home, helping serve lunch to the kids that attend their after-school program. Meanwhile, employees from HIM Winston-Salem spent time at the Hawley House and Salvation Army, assisting with maintenance, camera installations, organizing, hanging clothes and staffing cash registers.

In Mexico, employees visited two different organizations, Albergue Infantil Los Pinos and Ministerios de Amor, where they helped revitalize some of the buildings with new paint, and played with the kids after lunch. Employees also donated board games to the kids.

Employees in United Kingdom volunteered around 200 hours at Merryfields and Hackney Young Carers. They put a fresh coat of paint in bedrooms and common areas where children spend most of their time and took 30 of the children and teens on a trip that included ice-skating and the cinema.

Our employees in India spent time with children from SOS Children’s Village, sharing knowledge and teaching life skills such on computer programs, traffic discipline, personality development, linguistics, math and science.

And last, but not least, 100% of employees in the Philippines participated in GMOP, teaching children and teens from SOS Children’s Village-Alabang about better meal preparation, healthy cooking, and sports activities.

The Global Month of Purpose was a great way to celebrate Mark Hughes´s vision and continue to make a difference in the world!
