Chan Shih-Hao and Chang Chiao-Yen (Asia Pacific)
Herbalife Nutrition Foundation (HNF) awarded its 2014 Global Humanitarian Award to Chan Shih-Hao, for their patience, persistence and hard work. With a challenging childhood that saw him raised by relatives who moved more than 60 times, Shih-Hao had to fight to raise himself from poverty to President’s Team, but that hasn’t prevented him and his wife, Chang Chiao-Yen, from giving back now that they are successful.
Philanthropy is a lifelong commitment for the couple, who have donated money or volunteered their time to Children Are Us, Maria Social Welfare and Hualien Youth Home, three charities that serve children with developmental, and emotional and behavioral problems.
